About Us

The Program in Geriatrics is working with faculty members throughout UC Irvine's School of Medicine to integrate geriatric medicine principles into the curricula, including medical and surgical subspecialties. We are focusing on new innovative educational developments including Medical Simulation and interdisciplinary programs. New educational requirements include:

• a geriatrics rotation for internal medicine interns
• a geriatric anesthesia rotation for anesthesia residents
• instruction in best practices for transition in patient care for hospitalist residents and didactics for emergency medicine residents
• geriatric clerkship experience for third year medical students
