The opportunity to teach and work with medical students and residents is what brought me to UCI.  It’s a stimulating environment that constantly pushes me to keep learning.  I’m really passionate about the specialty of Family Medicine.  It’s a challenging field that requires you to know so much about so much.  As a mentor for the undergraduate club IMED (International Medicine. Education. Development), core faculty for the Clinical Foundations course at the medical school, and faculty advisor for the Family Medicine Interest Group at UCI School of Medicine, I’m motivated to open students’ eyes to what a Family Medicine doc can do.  I want the residents to learn what they're capable of doing as Family Medicine physicians and want to encourage them to reach their full potential.  Within the field itself, I practice ambulatory medicine, inpatient medicine, and OB.  I particularly enjoy doing and teaching a wide range of procedures from punch biopsies to trigger finger injections to IUD’s and Nexplanon placements.  Residency is such a special time in your career.  I think resident wellness and camaraderie are key to a great and meaningful experience.   This year I hope to work with Dr. Ho to organize monthly resident get-togethers to debrief and unwind.  Outside of medicine, you can find me playing beach volleyball on the weekends or traveling the world.
